Hello friends! Today in Daily Food Kitchen we are going to share with you 10 such cooking tips which if followed will not only help you become an expert in cooking but you will also be able to take your recipe to a different level every time.
Actually, cooking is an art in itself which not only requires skill but patience is also equally important in this art of cooking. If food is cooked with love then it definitely gets a lot of taste.
You must have often felt that despite adding the same kind of spices and preparing it in the same way, sometimes the taste of your dish does not come out as good as when you prepared it earlier. Why does this happen? Because many times we make small mistakes which we often ignore and their effect is seen on our recipe. While preparing recipe, do you also make these mistakes!
1. Use of Fresh Vegetables
While preparing vegetables, you have to take special care that your vegetables are fresh. Often we go to the vegetable market and buy vegetables in bulk and keep them in the fridge. Then we keep them and forget about them due to which they become stale. So what should we do for that? We should prepare them daily using fresh vegetables. Or you can use vegetables kept in the fridge for a maximum of two to three days.
2. The Right Way to Make Seasoning
Many times, due to hurry in the office or some other reason, we put the spices in cold oil. We should not do this at all. Because our whole spices like hing, cumin, mustard or fenugreek seeds release their aroma only on medium flame.
3. Choosing the Right Spices
Are you also among those who put the same kind of spices in every type of vegetable! It is very important to mention here that choosing different types of spices in different types of vegetables gives them a special taste and aroma. This is the reason why we should choose the right spices to make vegetables tasty.
For example, while making bitter gourd, you must choose fennel and dry mango powder, similarly, while making poha, you must choose mustard seeds, similarly, while making Kadhi Pakora, you must choose Kasuri Methi and curry leaves.
4. Using Onion and Tomato Correctly
Many times people do not fry the onion properly and add tomatoes to the raw onion. This should not be done at all. You have to fry the onion till it becomes golden brown, only after this you should add tomatoes or tomato puri to it.
5. Frying the Spices Properly
To make the curry tasty, just choosing the right spices is not enough. For this, frying the masala properly is also equally important. If you do not fry the spices properly, then it will remain raw which will spoil the taste of your dish. After turmeric, chilli and coriander powder is well coated in the vegetable, it must be fried for at least 2 to 3 minutes. Here, special attention should also be paid to the fact that you have to fry the spices till the oil separates from the spices.
6. Right Time to Add Salt
If you add salt in the vegetable in the beginning, it will make your vegetable melt or if you add salt at the end, it will not mix completely in the vegetable.
For this, you should add salt when your vegetable is half cooked.
7. Use of Right Amount of Water
While cooking different types of vegetables, water is used in different quantities, for example, a lot of water is used in cooking potato pea whereas while cooking ladyfinger, we only use a sprinkle of water.
8. Use of Right Amount of Oil
While cooking vegetables, we should also keep in mind that the oil we are using should be in the right quantity. Because if less oil is used, the masala will not be able to fry properly whereas using more oil will not only be harmful for health but will also spoil the taste of the vegetable.
9. Stir the Vegetable in Between
Many people often get busy with other work while cooking vegetables. We should not do this at all because if we cover the vegetable for a long time, it will get over cooked, which will spoil the taste of your vegetable. That is why it is very important to stir the vegetable in between after covering it, so that you will also get an idea of how much more time it will take to keep the vegetable.
10. Take Care of the Freshness of the Ingredients
While cooking vegetables, we often use ginger garlic paste. This paste should not be too old. That is why always choose ingredients like ginger garlic paste or green coriander fresh.
In the End
Making a tasty side dish is not a big deal, it just requires a little care and attention. If you remember the above mentioned points while cooking vegetables next time, then believe me - everyone will praise your vegetable.
So the next time you cook vegetables in the kitchen, keep these small things in mind - because taste does not come only from spices, but also from your understanding.
